Deciding to open a retail store is not an easy task. There are many factors that you have to take into consideration, and most entrepreneurs shy away from doing it at all. Arrington explains why he decided to pursue his passion.

“I have always been a sneakerhead. I love shoes, and this gives me the opportunity to interact with people who share the same passion as I do for shoes.”

“Too Much Sauce Sneaks” is not all about the shoes though. The store also offers clothing and other services. Arrington tells our readers what brands the store carries and what services are provided to the customers.

“I carry my brand ‘Too Much Sauce Sneaks.’ We will also have urban wear and casual wear, and have a contract with Nautica.”

More Than a Shoe Store (Extra Sauce)

A unique element that “Too Much Sauce Sneaks” offers to its customers is the chance to sell their sneakers through consignment.

“We clean shoes, we restore shoes, and we also do consignment where we sell people’s shoes for them.”

“If someone has a pair of shoes, they are trying to sell, and they are having a hard time selling them themselves. ..They can bring them to us because we reach a larger mass of people. We will try to sell their shoes for them. We will keep them a minimum of two (2) months, and see how it goes. Whatever price they sell for, we will get twenty-five ($25) dollars of the final price.”

Being an entrepreneur is not always a bed of roses. You are faced with many trials and tribulations while building your brand. Arrington tells us what his process was like while building his brand, and what traits he feels every entrepreneur needs for success.

“Things were hard at first. It was a lot of footwork. I got a lot of opinions from different people, and then I went with what I felt was best for my brand and the store.”

Advice For Young Entrepreneurs

“I think they should be more open-minded. Listen to people and be a people person. Get out there and get your face out there.  People will start knowing you and seeing you. That is all a part of building your brand. A lot of people will shop and do business with you just off of your name.”

“Make sure you do your research. Whatever you are trying to open up, get a book and read. Find an entrepreneur that you look up to and get a book and read about them. When I was coming up in the game, I read a lot about Russell Simmons. He was a person that I looked up to. I saw how he did his business, and I twisted it up and did it my own way.”
