Milwaukee-based hip hop artist Klassik is not nationally known yet, but it’s just a matter of time before everyone will know his lyrical style.
Klassik is no stranger to the hip-hop scene and is taking the Milwaukee area by storm. In 2012, Klassik was named Radio Milwaukee Artist of the Year; just last year in 2014, Klassik was recognized by JSOnline as one of the Top 10 Milwaukee Artist to Watch. Klassik has even opened for artists such as Kendrick Lamar and Ludacris.
When you listen to Klassik’s music, your ears are rushed with lyrical word play that describe his trials and tribulations growing up. Klassik’s sound has been described as being that of the “new school” of hip hop; meaning his lyrics focus more on personal stories and his thoughts of life rather than how much money he has. Hip hop artists such as Drake, B.O.B., Childish Gambino, and Kid Cudi are also in the “new school” category.
Klassik has recently dropped a new EP titled, ‘Spring’. It is the second EP in his series called ‘Seasons’. The EP features three songs that have jazz, blues, and R & B influences. You can listen to it here: ‘Spring’ and see what you think.
I like ‘Boogie’, which is up-tempo and features some samples of Michael Jackson. This song is not on the ‘Spring’ EP, but you can check out the music video below.
