The dusty doors of Moore Manor are open, Chateau Shereè is still a work in progress, and Porsha is Phaedra’s hot plus one. That pretty much sums up all the events of the season 9 premiere of “The Real Housewives Of Atlanta”. The Atlanta queens of shade are back, and they wasted no time with serving up the drama with a side dish of shade. If you missed it, don’t worry I have your full recap right here.
The show began with Kandi and Todd introducing the world to their new little bundle of joy, Ace Tucker. Todd and Kandi seem to really be enjoying parenting as they try to potty train their 6 month old. Yes, potty training a 6 month old. Kandi and Todd are trying to get out of diaper duty early. It was cute watching them try to encourage little Ace to feed the toilet fairy. LOL
Meanwhile, Kenya is living in the unfinished Moore Manor. Kenya is literally living in a construction zone, but she decides to plan a house warming party. Yep, you read that right. Kenya is planning a grand house warming party for an unfishied house. Kenya tells the contractor that she needs the house finished in two weeks because she has planned a house warming extravaganza but the contractor basically tells her that it won’t be finished in time. Kenya also took this time to explain why Matt was missing in action. According to Kenya, Matt has turned possessive, insecure, and jealous. Kenya said while in Mexico with Matt, he looked through her phone to see who she had been texting and also kicked open her hotel room door. Needless to say Kenya and Matt are no longer an item.
Phaedra receives a visit from Porsha. The women catch up on some girl talk and discuss Phaedra’s upcoming divorce. Phaedra tells Porsha that she thinks she is ready to start dating but wants to wait until her divorce is final in 30 days. Porsha immediately starts planning how she is going to hook Phaedra up with her next Mr. Right. Girl talk was interrupted by an unexpected knock on the door. Phaedra received an invitation to Kenya’s house warming party by a horse drawn carriage. In true Kenya fashion, the invite is oozing with shade. The invite states that your plus one must be hot and not a thot. Phaedra immediately decides to bring Porsha as her hot plus one. Neither woman put any thought into the shade of the invite and it didn’t occur to either one that the shade could have referred to Porsha.
Cynthia visits a lawyer to get the ball rolling on her divorce from Peter. Cynthia reveals that she and Peter have been living apart for the past five months. The lawyer runs down Cynthia’s options and suggest that if infidelity was involved things will go a little differently. Cynthia quickly shuts that down and insist that there was no cheating going on in their marriage on either part. She insisted that the decision was more about her just not wanting the relationship to continue.
Porsha Goes To Anger Management To Avoid Shade
Porsha meets with an anger managament counselor because she is tried of being labeled “aggressive” by the other women. During her session, she reveals that her agression may steam from her being bullied while in middle school and high school. Porsha also reaveled that she contemplated suicide when she was younger due to the bullying.
While Shereè and her oldest daughter walk through Shereè’s chateau, she receives a phone call from Kenya. Kenya called to invite Shereè to her house warming party and again shady boots appears. During Kenya’s confessional, she throws major shade again by saying she couldn’t send the invite to the party by horse and carriage because no one knew where Shereè was living these days.
Back across town, Cynthia face times Peter in hopes of finding the location of their prenup paperwork. At first Peter is a little rude and tells Cynthia that the prenup papers are probably with the marriage certificate. Peter was throwing a little shade of his own insinuating that maybe Cynthia’s mother and sister had the papers like they tried to hid the marriage license. Peter also wonders why Cynthia was face timing him cause he hadn’t seen her face in months. I’m sure the cameras being in her house influenced her face time decision. Anyway, Peter doesn’t want to talk about prenup paperwork instead he wanted to talk about how he really didn’t want to be divorced. Cynthia ended the conversation quickly and it seems as though her mind is completely made up.
The house warming party has finally arrived. Cynthia is the first to arrive to the party and quickly realizes that more work needed to be done to Moore Manor. Cynthia offers to delay getting ready for the party to help Kenya get some last minute things completed in the house. Cynthia notices “I’m Sorry” ballons in Kenya’s room and asked her if they were from Matt. Kenya turns on the water works as she explains how the house warming party could have been a day enjoyed by both her and Matt. Meanwhile, Shereè has arrived at the party and the shade extravaganza begins! Shereè says that Kenya is living like the Flintstones because several things in the house are not finished. Shereè points out that all the guest are sweating and are covered with dust due to the unfinished construction. Once Kenya makes her grand entrance into the party, she immediately makes her way to where Cynthia and Shereè are standing. Kenya throws a jab at Shereè insinuating that Shereè has been working on her house for the last five years. Well, Shereè is no punk and wastes no time telling Kenya that her entire house is the size of her master bedroom. The subject quickly changes to who was invited to the party. Kenya explains how she has basically invited all the ladies except Porsha. Kenya says that she wanted to feel safe in her own house and felt that Porsha would be better off uninvited. Right after Kenya tells the ladies abut her party being a Porsha free zone, guess who arrives? Yep, you guessed it, the hot plus one Porsha. Shereè began to squeal with joy because she knew what was about to go down.
I can’t wait till next week to see how all the drama unfolds.
So, what are your thoughts? How long do you think it will take Kenya to kick Porsha out of the party? Do you think Kandi is rushing baby Ace’s potty training? Do you think Porsha is wrong for coming to the party since she personally didn’t receive an invite? Let me know in the comments.
