Ryan Murphy is the king of original series, and the FX network has been the recipient of the king’s good deeds. Murphy has brought the FX network many original drama series which include Nip/Tuck, American Horror Story, America Crime Story, and Feud. Now, Murphy is working on another series to bless the FX network with.
The television show creator is currently working on a 1980s-drama called “Pose”. The series will be produced by Murphy, Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson. “Pose” is set to premiere on the FX network in 2018. The show was written by Murphy along with collaborations from Brad Falchuk and Steven Canals.
Falchuk worked with Murphy on “American Horror Story”, “American Crime Story”, and Glee; while Canal was discovered by Murphy. Falchuk and Canal are also listed as producers along with Sherry Marsh. There will also be a co-production for this project between FX Prods. and Fox 21 TV Studios.
The series will begin production in New York during October of this year, and Murphy is set to direct the first episode. “Pose” is set in 1986 and will focus on several segments which include life and society of New York, the downtown social scene, ball culture world, literary scene, and the beginning of the Trump-era.
Casting has already begun for the show and Murphy is looking to fill the cast with new and unknown performers. Murphy is also currently working on the second and third installments of “American Crime Story” which will focus on Katrina and Versace. Also, Murphy has announced that the “Feud” second season will focus on Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
So, what are your thoughts? Are you a Ryan Murphy fan? Will you make it a point to catch his latest drama? Who would you choose as a subject for “American Crime Story”? Let me know in the comments.
