[Video] Lego Makes A Comeback With New Batman Movie

It’s been a couple of years since the creators of “The Lego Movie” have graced the big screens. Adults and kids alike have been on their heels waiting for a follow-up movie to hit the theaters. Well, the wait is almost over. The creators of “The Lego Movie” phenomenon hope to have the same box office success with their upcoming release of “The Lego Batman Movie”.

Lego Batman made an appearance in the first Lego movie as the self-proclaimed leading man. This time around Batman will be the star of the show. The movie will take place in the crime infested Gotham City. The city finds itself taken over by Batman’s arch nemeses The Joker. The citizens of Gotham City need Batman’s help, but in order to save them, Batman will have to learn how to seek help from others. Batman will be forced to drop his loner style persona, if he wasn’t to take back his city from the evil hands of The Joker.

The Lego Cast

Will Arnett will revive his role as Batman also known as millionaire Bruce Wayne for the movie. Zach Galifianakis (Muppets Most wanted, Hangover) will lend his voice as The Joker. Other stars who will be lending their vocals to the anticipated movie will be Rosario Dawson, Henny Slate, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Cera, and Mariah Carey. Rosario Dawson will be the voice of Barbara Gordon also known as Batgirl; while Michael Cera will voice Robin, the orphan that Batman took in. Grammy award winner, Mariah Carey, will voice the Mayor of Gotham City, Marion Grange.

The movie will be directed by Chris McKay, and the screenplay was written by Seth Grahame-Smith, Jared Stern, and John Whittington. The story was conceived by Grahame-Smith, Erik Sommers, and Chris McKenna and was based off the Lego Construction Toys. The movie will be produced by Dan Lin, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Roy Lee all of which worked on “The Lego Movie”. “Lego Batman Movie” is set to hit theaters on February 10, 2017.
